Central Office

The Greater Vancouver Intergroup Society Intergroup Office (generally referred to within AA as Central Office) is a place where anyone can contact us, and find out more about Alcoholics Anonymous. The following services are available.

  • Volunteer AA members are in the office to answer questions from those seeking help with their problems with alcohol. Phone support is available 24 hours a day.
  • Maintains a supply of AA books, pamphlets, videos, CDs, display materials, foreign literature (40 languages), service materials are for sale, to AA Groups and individual members, to the public and to institutions that order AA literature. We can ship orders anywhere in the Province. A price list is available from the office.
  • A monthly Newsletter informing members and groups of changes to the Meeting Directory, service functions, AA events and current news. A listing of group contributions to Intergroup is distributed to groups four times per year.
  • A directory of AA Meetings in the Intergroup area and an up to date listing of all meeting information and changes.
  • Administrative support to the Intergroup Committee, the Operating Committee and the sub-committees of Intergroup.

The Intergroup area comprises Burnaby, Coquitlam, Delta, Ladner, Maple Ridge, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Pitt Meadows, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, Surrey, Tsawwassen, Vancouver, West Vancouver and White Rock.

Literature Sales

You can purchase AAWS conference approved literature at the Intergroup office:

Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday and statutory holidays 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Ship Orders

Central Office ships orders throughout the province of B.C. To order literature:

  • Look at the Literature Catalog.
  • Call, fax or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it an order to us. Include the item number and quantity (price list is available on request) and your contact information including mailing address.
  • We will put together and package your order, obtain postage costs, and email you the total costs.
  • You send us a check.
  • We ship the order.

Phone support

Volunteer AA members answer the telephones at the Intergroup office:

Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Saturday, Sunday, statutory holidays 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.

A telephone answering service takes calls when volunteers are not in the office and refers calls to appropriate AA members when necessary.
