Operating CommitteeThe Operating Committee members are the legal directors of the Greater Vancouver Intergroup Society. The Committee consists of nine members of Alcoholics Anonymous including three officers, three Class A members and three Class B members. These members are elected by vote of the Group Representatives at the semi-annual meeting of the Intergroup Committee. All members of the Operating Committee shall have an equal voice and vote. The committee appoints a recording secretary who has no voice or vote on the Operating Committee. Members of the Operating committee hold office for a term of 18 months but the terms rotate so that terms of three members expires at each semi-annual meeting. The three members serving their third six-month term are the officers – Chairperson, First and Second Vice-chairpersons. The three members serving their second term are Class A members and the three members serving their first term are Class B members. Meetings of the Operating Committee are held monthly on the Thursday before the Intergroup meeting.
